“We all have this capacity to choose, when nothing helpful is coming from the outside, that is precisely the moment when we have the possibility to discover who we really are. it's not about what happens to us that matter most, it’s what we do with our experiences.”
— Edith Eger
Hello there! I'm Kayla, and I'm honored to be considered as your therapist on this journey toward healing and self-discovery. Having spent nearly a decade studying and working abroad by myself, I intimately understand the whirlwind of emotions that come with navigating life away from home. Whether you're a newcomer to a new country, an international student, or simply facing significant life changes, I'm here to offer you unwavering support and guidance.
As someone who has walked the path of cultural adaptation and personal growth, I bring a deep sense of empathy and cultural sensitivity to our sessions. I recognize the unique challenges of being away from familiar surroundings, separated from loved ones, and adjusting to a new way of life. In our therapeutic space, you'll find a sanctuary free of judgment, where your experiences and emotions are valued and respected.
One of my passions lies in helping individuals navigate through relationship challenges, cope with depression, and overcome other mental health obstacles. Drawing from attachment theory and my firm belief in the resilience of the human spirit, I strive to empower you to tap into your inner strength and embrace life's transitions with courage and grace.
During my professional journey, I've had the privilege of working in a nursing home, where I immersed myself in the lives of residents. Engaging in life review therapy, I facilitated meaningful conversations that allowed residents to reflect on their past and find fulfillment in their present. These experiences instilled in me a deep sense of empathy and an understanding of holistic care's importance in promoting quality of life in the senior population.
