“Embrace your uniqueness and unlock the inner strength that makes you truly exceptional, and I will support you every step of the way.”

Hi, I’m Yulia, an intern therapist at Counselling & Co, and I’m here to provide compassionate support as you navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re managing the pressures of single parenting, working through relationship difficulties, coping with a new or medical diagnosis, or adjusting to life with a chronic illness, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way. With my extensive nursing background (25 years!), I bring a unique perspective to therapy, blending clinical knowledge with emotional support to help you thrive.

I am passionate about supporting individuals and families who are dealing with the stress and uncertainty of managing chronic disease or adapting to a new medical diagnosis. I understand how these experiences can disrupt your sense of self and impact your emotional and relational well-being, and my goal is to help you develop healthy coping strategies, manage stress, and find ways to navigate the emotional complexities that come with chronic illness and medical transitions. I offer a holistic approach that combines emotional care with a deep understanding of the medical journey. I believe that mental health and physical health are interconnected, and I work with you to ensure that both aspects are cared for.

In my work, I bring a nurturing and grounded energy, which is especially helpful when working with couples. All relationships go through periods of distress and disconnection, especially in the fast-paced nature of todays world. I get that its hard to find the time for meaningful interactions and that work, family obligations and other responsibilities tend to take precedence over nurturing our relationships. Couples therapy can be a great place to carve out time together, where we can identify the often negative pattern of interaction that you may find yourself falling into during moments of conflict or disconnection so we can replace it with patterns of connection, support, and understanding.

I’m also passionate about supporting individuals and couples working through the ending of a relationship. Having personally navigated the challenges of a divorce, I deeply understand the emotional complexity and strain that individuals can face. Whether you're looking to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, or navigate the pain of a breakup, I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to our work together. My goal is to create a supportive environment where healing, understanding, and growth can occur, helping you build the resilience needed to move forward with clarity and confidence.
