Walk & Talk Therapy
Find Your Path to Healing with Walk & Talk Therapy
Do you feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or depression? Are you seeking a holistic approach to therapy that transcends the confines of a traditional therapy room? In today’s fast-paced world, feeling disconnected from nature and ourselves is easy, leading to stagnation, irritability, and isolation.
The consequences of not addressing these challenges can include persistent depression, a dysregulated nervous system, and a detachment from the body and senses. It is often the sedentary lifestyle associated with modern living that exacerbates these issues, resulting in a cycle of stress and disconnection.
Walk & Talk Therapy in Oakville offers a refreshing alternative. Using nature's healing power combined with psychotherapy's benefits, we help you reconnect with yourself and the world around you. In addition to encouraging movement, mindfulness, and emotional well-being, this unique ecotherapy leads you toward inner tranquility, peace and rejuvenation.

What is Walk & Talk Therapy?
Walk & Talk Therapy is an innovative ecotherapy based on the Biophilia Hypothesis, which suggests an innate human desire to connect with nature. It is a practice where you can enjoy the restorative effects of being outdoors while engaging in meaningful psychotherapy. This approach benefits your mental and emotional health and encourages physical activity and mindfulness through interaction with the natural environment. Our trained therapists in Oakville are adept at facilitating these interactions, ensuring that each session moves you closer to your therapeutic goals.

FAQs
Is our first session online or outside?
Your first session will be online, allowing you to discuss your needs and ensure Walk & Talk Therapy aligns with your therapeutic goals.
It's an opportunity for you and your therapist to discuss all the details needed to decide if Walk & Talk Therapy is a good option for your therapeutic goals. You and your therapist will discuss medical fitness and any other conditions and outline the risks involved, such as limits to privacy and confidentiality in a public setting and any potential triggers for a client who has experienced trauma before advising Walk & Talk therapy.
We will also spend time making a plan for your first Walk & Talk Therapy session. Some clients prefer the flexibility of utilizing both Walk & Talk and Virtual options.
What happens if it's raining or the weather is not cooperating?
We adapt to Mother Nature, moving sessions online or in-office as needed, ensuring your therapy journey remains uninterrupted.
What if I try it and don’t like it?
That’s completely okay! We’re committed to finding the therapy approach that suits you best, whether it’s continuing with virtual sessions or transitioning to in-office counselling.
